Baggage Service: Delayed Baggage Policy

Should a passenger arrive at their destination airport on an Omni Air International (OAI) flight and find their baggage has been delayed, the following policy and procedure will apply:

This coverage will begin when the passenger reports non-receipt of baggage to an OAI representative at the destination airport; written report form should be completed by the passenger and returned to the OAI representative before leaving the airport. Coverage will end when the bag is returned to the passenger or OAI determines that the bag cannot be recovered. Coverage applies whether the passenger has traveled on an international or domestic flight.

Up to $25.00 per day is ordinarily sufficient to cover reasonable expenses such as dental supplies, hair supplies, undergarments, etc., resulting from delayed baggage. OAI will consider reimbursement of a larger amount only to the extent proof is furnished that additional expenses were necessarily incurred by the passenger as a result of the delayed baggage. All expenses must be reasonable, actual and verifiable to be considered for reimbursement.

The passenger must purchase all items; cash advances are not possible. Reimbursement will be handled after passenger’s return, please allow 4-6 weeks for settlement of claim. Receipts for all items purchased, passenger’s copy of delayed luggage report, itemized OAI claim form, and any supporting information must be submitted in writing for reimbursement to:

Should luggage not be recovered, final settlement will be negotiated with an OAI Representative.

For international travel (including domestic portions of international journeys), OAI's liability on claims for loss, damage or delay of baggage is limited to 1,288 Special Drawing Rights (equal to approximately $1,725.00) per passenger. Additional information on Special Drawing Rights is available at www.imf.org.

For travel wholly between U.S. points, OAI's liability on claims for loss, damage or delay of baggage is limited to $3,800 per passenger. All claims are subject to proof of the amount of loss.
