PORTABLE OXYGEN CONCENTRATOR (POC)

Omni Air International will permit use of FAA-approved passenger supplied Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) under battery power on board Omni if requested 48 hours prior to the intended flight, and

-The passenger has a signed physician's statement to be kept in that person's possession with the following information:

- -Whether the user of the device has the physical and cognitive ability to see, hear, and understand the device's aural and visual cautions and warnings and is able, without assistance, to take the appropriate action in response to those cautions and warnings.

- -Whether or not oxygen use is medically necessary for all or a portion of the duration of the trip. For example, during the entire flight (including aircraft ground delays, movement on the surface (taxi), takeoff, and landing), during only the en route portion of the flight, or only when needed.

- -The maximum oxygen flow rate corresponding to the pressure in the cabin of the aircraft under normal operating conditions.

- -The physician's statement must be dated within 10 days of the scheduled date of the passenger’s initial flight.

-The passenger must carry on the flight a sufficient number of batteries to power the POC for 150% of the expected maximum flight duration.

- -Note: Use of aircraft electrical power is prohibited on Omni aircraft and in-seat power is not guaranteed.

-Spare lithium batteries carried on board aircraft must be individually protected from short circuit by placement in original retail packaging, by otherwise insulating terminals by taping over exposed terminals, or by placing each battery in a separate plastic bag or protective pouch.

- -Note: Spare lithium batteries are prohibited from being carried in checked baggage on an aircraft.

-Seating restrictions may be necessary to comply with FAA safety rules. POC users may not be seated in an exit row.

Authorized POCs

The FAA has established acceptance criteria for POCs used on aircraft. POCs meeting the criteria must bear a label indicating the POC is safe to use on aircraft. A passenger may carry or operate a POC for personal use on board an aircraft during all phases of flight if the

POC bears a label with the following statement in red:

The manufacturer of this POC has determined this device conforms to all applicable FAA acceptance criteria for POC carriage and use on board aircraft.

The labeling requirements above do not apply to POCs previously approved by the FAA and identified in 14 CFR 121.574.

The POCs that may be used without bearing a label are:
